Legal Now?
Last May 21, 2012, I have celebrated my 18th birthday. To a girl, it is something special that parents get busy for preparations for a debut. But in my case, I have opted not to celebrate one. For reasons such as my mom isn’t around to spend it with me and other stuff.
However, my parents still insisted to have a mini-party at home. I actually didn’t know that it can be categorize in “party” section. Not until I saw a lot of people in our house; that were classmates of my dad in law school, relatives from my mom’s side and dad’s side, as well.
I really didn’t know everything about it. It was my cousin who told me that my dad organized everything. From the tarpaulin, cake and food. Everything.
With that, I felt lucky for having a very supported dad despite the fact that I didn’t ask for it. The feeling of happiness that even my mom wasn’t around, he never fails to act as my mom and dad, at the same time.
Is this post all about my dad? NO. I just want to express how grateful I am to have him as my dad. Moving on, I had a great day with my family. They’re the people that I know would accept me for who I am and who will I become. They’re the people that would laugh at the corniest joke I have and the people that I know would never betray me.
In addition, one highlight of the event was when my two best-est friends, Tanya and Shydie didn’t even bother to greet me. I cried. Yes, I cried because I thought they’ve forgot a big event of my life; however, by 11pm, Tanya called that she was down stairs and waiting for me. Right there and then, she gave me a bouquet of flowers and a cake. Shydie, given that she’s in Cebu, left me a video presentation that I find cute and disturbing at the same time. Disturbing in a sense that I never thought she can be serious in a minute.
I am such a bubbly person. With that, I have said so much. To end this up, my celebration is a concrete example of what Collin in Dark Shadows have stated;
“Blood is thicker than water; that’s what define us.”
